This author writes with heartfelt clarity and enough detail for the reader to grasp just how devastating the business of sex is. Filled with HOPE for survivors & those needing help too. I didn’t realize this is happening in my small town, but now looking at things differently, I have seen it to be true.I think everyone involved with victims whether it be counselors, law enforcement, judicial system, or families and survivors themselves would greatly benefit from reading this. I’m none of these, and learned such a great deal, I’m encouraging others to read as well if not to bring about more compassion, then to be more informed.Kudos to the author for bravely telling her story to help others.
This book is a first hand, hard look at the cost of sex trafficking from one who was exploited for years. It is both revealing and horrific as Ms. Patterson reveals the deep involvement, manipulation and exploitation involved in keeping her in the industry and making it almost impossible to depart. This is not full of trauma but good info about recover and the problem. Great book!
