Claudia Friedlander is a voice teacher and fitness expert based in New York City. She has presented workshops on vocal fitness for The Voice Foundation and the Performing Arts Medicine Association, and was an invited panel discussant on health and wellness for OPERA America. Her students have performed on Broadway, and at leading opera houses including The Santa Fe Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. She is the author of the monthly column “Musings on Mechanics” for Classical Singer Magazine as well as a widely read and cited blog on vocal technique and fitness, The Liberated Voice. Wonderful responsible integrated approach to the physical, mental, and yes, even some not to the spiritual work and art of singing! Claudia Friedlander explains the anatomical mechanics of singing cleanly in the context of the whole person. I also really appreciate her understanding and application of working on body balance as it applies to singing and the work of being a artist and artisan of live performance. Have recommended already to friends and colleagues who sing and teach singers and actors.

I love the diagrams, first of all! Somehow the anatomy lessons in this book are easier for me to receive than in a traditional biology book, maybe because it directly applies them to singing? Anyway, I've just started teaching voice and this book is invaluable! The work-out options are also dope, but I'm only just scratching the surface of them.

This book is a great resource for singers of all styles. I’m a pop singer, and the chapter on laryngeal anatomy is really helping me to even out my vocal registers and expand my range upwards!

I bought this book because I have found Dr Friedlander's Toutube channel so useful. Indeed, the anatomy illustrations are very clear and her explanation of how the vocal apparatus works is extremely comprehensive, although not entirely comprehensible at the first reading. This will be a reference work for me and I expect to return to it often. It is too early to say whether the exercises are helpful but they are a valuable part of the book. I am more sceptical about the dietary advice which is based on the standard dietary recommendations.

Even with YouTube and the internet, a Haynes manual is a great reference, especially when it is a less common vehicle. Bought for my son to use with his bike.

This manual service manual is sufficient for performing most repairs and is a very good reference. The photos and diagrams are satisfactory (but not great). For the price, I do recommend it.

Using this manual I've been able to diagnois electrical problems, bleed my clutch to fix a soft clutch handle, change my oil, as well as perform general cleaning and answer any questions I've had on my 1984 Honda Sabre VF700S. Good illustrations and answers for the differing bike models have let me help my neighbor out with his Magna 1100.

This is just like every other Haynes manual. Most of the information is there and can get you through most repairs. I prefer the factory service manual. This one was more in the budget and was great for starting to service my first motorcycle.

This is a useful book; it expands an earlier edition. The book uses the "linear programming format."A programmed instruction book, when opened should lie as flat as possible so that the reader can cover the given answer as she/he solves the indicated problem!This is not the case with this book; it is small and stiff and tends to close and not lie flat when opened. This is a nuisance that interferes with study!I have read and own many programmed instruction books that date back to the 1960s. The better ones had relatively large pages that were bound in signatures; some used spiral binding, etc. These types of bindings allowed the book to remain open so that the preceding text was easily referred to as one completed an exercise, etc.Having said that, this book is useful. However, a casual acquaintance with 3-D coordinates, atomic orbitals, and matrices would be helpful.The material covered is classic, useful, and worth mastering. It will ease the pain when studies of more detailed accounts of symmetry and group theory are encountered!

I bought this book with no prior knowledge of molecular symmetry nor the mathematics of group theory. With only the idea of stereochemistry and matrix algebra, I was hoping that this book would help pave the way for my inorganic chemistry course over the summer. The first few pages (about 6-10 pages in) started out quite nicely, you get a comfortable feel for the author and his teaching style- almost like a parent holding your hand and guiding you gently through the basic elements of symmetry. Aside from a few vaguely conveyed ideas (improper rotation was not very clear), you start to get a hang of the idea and feel comfortable with the author and his pedagogy. BUT..... once you reach the 2nd chapter about point groups, it's as though the author left you in the middle of a busy high-way, blindfolded, with little to no explanation why such a point group contains such elements, etc. and how, or even why he grouped it such a way! All the new concepts in chapter 2 were just thrown at you as though you are the master of molecular symmetry. This would be alright if the book haven't been a step-by-step guide to Molecular symmetry and Group Theory, so basically when I got stuck with Chapter 2, I had NO clue what chapter 3 was talking about and because I don't know chapter 3, I could forget about Chapter 4, and so on... Unfortunate! That's one word I want to convey about this book. It's unfortunate that the author just got tired of explaining better after chapter 1, and assumed that everyone is the master of molecular symmetry after an excellent introduction. It got my hopes up and let it down as soon as I got to chapter 2. If this is the "easiest" way to learn molecular symmetry, I don't know how people learn it in the past. I give this 1 star because that's how many chapters I got to understand in this book. Bottom line is, this book is like a movie with a great trailer- and after watching the movie for the first ten minutes, you realize it has nothing to do with what the trailer is about- that's how you'll feel when you get to chapter 2....trust me.

This book provides a good overview of group theory and a great introduction to the field. It is easy to read and contains numerous exercises to demonstrate the key points throughout. Consequently, this makes it a good text for a course that involves group theory. It also contains some useful hints not found in other texts. I surveyed several books on group theory, and this was the best one overall. The text by Cotton is more complete and exhaustive, but for basic knowledge I prefer this book because it is simply written.

As an average chemistry student at an American University. I have to say this has been one of my favorite supplemental text books ever for the subject of Inorganic Chemistry. It condenses the information down into smaller sections with easy to understand sections broken up by practice problems.I would not say this is the only necessary text for the subject but to sit along side your main Inorganic text book I would say this is a very useful book to have to read. The exercises are easy to understand and do. When you get stuck the book is short enough to re-read sections and clear up any confusion.However for a more in depth understanding I would look elsewhere.

The book starts easy but makes huge jumps in each subsequent chapter. In the end, you'll be left with enormous gaps of knowledge which the authors pretends to have addressed in his previous chapters. I spent minutes rereading a page in search of some information that I thought I had missed, only to find out there was nothing there. I recommend Robert Carter's book rather than this too-short-to-be-useful book. The low price isn't really worth it.

So far this is the best introductory book that is available in the topic. The style of presentation is lucid such that a student with minimum knowledge in geometry can master group theory in 2 weeks. Traditionally Group theory in Chemistry is considered as very abstract and therefore complex subject. But after reading from first page to the last, I felt that this opinion is wrong and Group theory can be presented in easy way as Vincent did. I strongly recommend this book for undergraduate and graduate courses!!

Our professor had us but this and a few other books to cover all the topics we needed to for Advanced Inorganic Chemistry. This book is great. It walks you through the coordination really nicely and is very interactive with it's little mid-reading quizzes. Probably one of the most spot on valuable books I've owned.

Instead, as Ms. Gail recounts her memories, she shares the helpful things she found that aided her mother during what can be a difficult time for everyone. This loving memoir is a touching reminder to all of us that even though it can be painful watching a loved one go through this difficult time, there are rewards in helping them in whatever way we are able. Five stars.

This book is so meaningful. It describes the author's actions as her mother slowly ebbed away from reality. Dealing with Alzheimer's or Dementia can be devastating to family members. Ms. Gail has written from her heart about caring for her mother. What is so helpful is the author's suggestions for caregiver support agencies. I believe that anyone who is or expects to be a caregiver in the future will benefit from this book. I found it touching and caring. I recommend this book. It's wonderful.

I have read numerous books on Alzheimer’s but this one is so practical. Excellent for caregivers of newly diagnosed or well into the journey. Practical tips for all. I wish all involved in this journey would read this. Good gift for someone who needs knowledge on how to gracefully walk and survive this journey.

My phone dinged in the middle of the night telling me I had a message. It turned out that this book had just downloaded onto my tablet. Started reading it about 12:30am and have just finished it at 2:00pm.Great inspirational read, just wish it had included pictures

Through years watching Fixer Upper, I always especially enjoyed the parts with Clint. I wanted to know more about him and his family. Now,delightfully, I know more -- much more. This book is VERY interesting. Even though the Harps do not know me, I am just plain proud of them. They have determination and integrity -- a fine example of inspiration.

It was interesting to follow the fixer upper story and understand how fixer upper touched so many lives in Waco, Texas.Love the show and all the characters!!

I absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed reading about Clint's journey to following his dreams and how he came to be on the show Fixer Upper with the Gaines. I also found it to be somewhat inspiring. I am on the verge of an out of State move and I have been feeling stuck in my decision process ... Clint references several movies, books etc. to read or watch to help with moving along towards fulfilling your dreams and major changes in life. It was a light easy read that will make you laugh out loud. I recommend this book to everyone..

Well, this is a great read, got it on Friday, finished it Sunday night, it’s inspiring, and genuine, I want my kids and grandkids to read this and realize that they,too, can have a crazy dream—-thanks Clint and Kelly!

I enjoyed Clint's story! When watching the Fixer Upper and meeting Clint on the show, one wonders about him. I was so happy to read his story and how he met the Gaines. When I visited Waco I made sure to go to his store. I purchased two candle stands....love them, have them on my mantle and am SO proud to have a piece of this Waco history.

I’ve been a Fixer Upper fan for a few years and have always enjoyed the part that Clint had in bringing Joanna’s carpentry designs to life. He always seemed to be such a sweet sincere guy. When I saw he’d written a book, it went on my list of “gotta read soon”. Just finished it and I highly recommend. It’s just a great read authentically told with Clint’s personality and voice. His story is candidly told with his own humor that made me chuckle out loud. I’m always inspired by stories of hard work by genuine, humble people, especially when they pay off. As stated above, this was time well spent!

I enjoyed getting to know Clint and family. I had no idea of his story and now he seems like an old friend.
