I bought this thinking I was buying a collection of sheet music. Nope. TABS only. The front cover and the description are vague about the format and one of the reviews claims that there are tabs and standard musical notation. Nope. No standard musical notation. Just the tabs. And you'd better have young eyes to read the tabs. The numbers are so small that they look like little deformed notes.
It is a fun book and the price is right. I bought it to practice with TABS and learn a few introductions to some Bass lines from music I don't normally play or perform to add a little humor to the band's I play with. Glad I got it..
Unfortunately, all the arrangements are in tabulature and sometimes the rhythm is not correct. Notation and tab combo would have made the songs more accessible for the bass guitar student.
This book was a good purchase. Tabs are easy to read and are wrotren as if they were on a staff so you can almost feel what should be played. Good variety of songs too. I would recommend this to anyome who plays bass but doesnt know how to read music. If you want to be able to play a few songs quick this isn't a bad option.
Lots of great songs with lyrics, tabs and regular musical notation for each song. My son is extremely happy with his gift.
I haven't had a chance to really dig into this book yet but the transcriptions look fairly accurate. I don't necessarily agree with all there choices but they do have a lot of what could be considered influential songs here.
Has tabs which is good for me.
This book is fun to use and well written. It also arrived in a timely manner and was everything that it promised to be.
